Desert thirst, cloud profits: the real “AI boom” in Mesa

Mesa guarantees Google up to 4 million gallons of water a day so that servers can sweat in the desert, while homes must prove “100-year” supplies and farmers watch wells sink. This is not “innovation,” it is the old religion of profit with new incense: the absolute law is not human need but surplus-value, and water itself is drafted into the valorization process. @The absolute law of capitalist production is the production of surplus-value, not the satisfaction of human needs.
Capital breaks the natural metabolism between people and land, then sells back “solutions” like closed-loop cooling as virtue, while the aquifer pays the bill. @By destroying the spontaneous, natural conditions of the human–soil metabolism, capitalism compels its systematic restoration as a consciously regulated law of social production, in a form corresponding to the full development of humanity.
If the city must ration, let it begin with the least necessary luxury: the machines that mint dividends from drought.
